WINK
Women Inspiring Never-Ending Kinnections
March is Womens History Month
Weaving the Stories of Women's Lives
HOW DID IT BEGIN?
As recently as the 1970’s, women’s history was virtually an unknown topic in the K-12 curriculum or in general public consciousness. To address this situation, the Education Task Force of the Sonoma County (California) Commission on the Status of Women initiated a “Women’s History Week” celebration for 1978.
The week March 8th, International Women’s Day, was chosen as the focal point of the observance.
BOOK OF THE MONTH
In honor of National women's History Month 2015 Bee Evolved is launching a writing series themed WINK: Stories that Save. The series will include stories of our lives and the choices that we make that inspire other women and young girls to see that hope and change are possible, and encourage them to live bigger and bolder lives.
